Oriental Rugs

orientalOriental rugs are hand knotted rugs that come from the Middle East or Far East. Afghanistan, India, Nepal, Iran, Turkey, and China are a few of the areas that make traditional oriental rugs.

Hand Tufted Rugs

handtuftedThese are rugs that are made by punching strands of wool through a canvas using a tool. Fabric is then glued to the back of the rug to hold the wool in place. The fact that these rugs are not knotted is what distinguishes them from oriental rugs.

Machine Made Rugs

machinemadeMachine made rugs are made with computerized power looms that create an overstitch. Machine made rugs are manufactured using wool or synthetic fibers such as polypropylene, nylon, polyester, acrylic, or art silk.
